Day 1 : Delhi- Haridwar
Char Dham Yatra with Hemkund Shaib journey starts from Delhi. From Delhi drive to Haridwar from where the Yatra to the Char Dham starts. Upon reaching Haridwar go to the hotel rest there till evening. Spend the evening visiting temple and enjoying aarti at the Hark a Pauri Ghat. Have dinner and stay overnight.![]()
Day 2 : Haridwar- Barkot
Haridwar to Barkot is a long distance drive. Lunch will be at a Mussoorie restaurant. Than the next stop is Kempty Falls and then finally you reach Bakot. There are guest houses and hotels in this place stay wherever you feel like. Take dinner and be ready for the next day.
Day 3 : Barkot- Yamunotri- Barkot
Third day proceed to Yamunotri. After breakfast drive to Hanuman Chatti. From Hanuman Chatti go to Janki Chatti by taking a local jeep. After 6 km of trekking you reach Yamunotri. When you reach here take a dip in the pond and then darshan of Yamuna. The Yamunotri Temple is there and it is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Than from here go back to Barkot.
Day 4 : Barkot- Harsil
After breakfast drive to Harsil. Stop over Uttarkashi for lunch. Then keep driving till you reach the beautiful valley of Harsil. On arrival go to a hotel take rest. Good dinner and stay overnight is the plan for today.
Day 5 : Harsil- Gangotri- Uttarkashi
From Harsil Gangotri is the next destination. Gangotri is the place of origin of river Ganga. There are myths and stories related to this place. Here take a dip into the holy Ganga visit Ganga Maya and offer prayers. From here the next destination is Uttarkashi. After reaching here take a rest house or hotel.
Day 6 : Uttarkashi- Guptkashi
After breakfast in Uttarkashi drive to Guptkashi. On the way visit the Tehri Dam along with the heritage city. Keep moving towards Guptkashi and on the way enjoy the view of Mandakini river. After a long drive you will reach Guptkashi. When you reach here take a hotel for overnight.
Day 7 : Guptkashi- Kedarnath
Next day’s plan made by holidayspoints.com is that after breakfast drive to Gaurikund. From here you have to trek to Kedarnath. Kedarnath is the remotest Dham out of all the Dhams. Upon arrival go to a tourist lodge or ashram for overnight stay. This day visit Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi.
Day 8 : Kedarnath- Joshimath
In the morning visit Kedarnath Shrine, one of the Panch Kedars. From here trek back to Gaurikund and upon reaching here drive to Joshimath. When you reach here check into a camp. Joshimath is 42 km away from Badrinath and there are temples of Lord Narasimha and Lord Vasudeva. Come back to the ashram or lodge and stay overnight.![]()
Day 9 : Joshimath- Badrinath- Joshimath
Early morning take breakfast and drive to Badrinath Dham. The first place to visit in Badrinath is the Badrinath Shrine. After lunch visit Mana Villlage. This village is located at the edge of the border of Tibet. After a long day drive back to Jodhinath and spend the night here.
Day 10 : Joshimath- Govind Ghat- Gangaria
Now today’s journey is bit tiring with driving, trekking and all that. Start the day early with breakfast. Then drive to Govind Ghat. Next is trekking to Gangaria. The trekking point to Hemkunda Sahib yatra. Upon reaching there you can stay in a camp.
Day 11 : Gangaria- Hemkunda Sahib- Gangaria
From Gangaria trek to Hemkunda Sahib yatra. While crossing the hilly terrains you will get the view of canopy of Himalayan Mountains. Doli and horses are easily available for hire. You can cover some distance by riding on their back. Now is the darshan time after which you trek back to Gangaria. Take very good rest.
Day 12 : Gangaria- Govind Ghat- Joshimath
Today is the day for Joshimath. You can explore the temples of Joshimath today. In the morning trek back to Govind Ghat from Gangaria. Then drive back to Joshimath. Take a camp and after rest go for exploration.
Day 13 : Joshimath- Rishikesh
