Jodhpur is the Sun City of India. It is situated in Western Rajasthan. Rao Jodha Ji founded Jodhpur in the year of 1459. Mehrangarh Fort Mehrangarh fort is about 5km from Jodhpur Town. Rao Jodha built the fort in 1459 when he shifted his capital from Mandore. Situated on a steep hill, Mehrangarh fort is one of the largest forts in India. The beauty and the grandeur of numerous palaces in the fort narrate a saga of hard sandstones yielding to the chisels of skilled Jodhpuri sculptures.

Jaswant Thada Built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, in 1899, the imposing white marble memorial marks the site of a royal crematorium. Umaid Bhawan Palace Built by Maharaja Umaid Singh (1929 -1942) and named after him. This Umaid Bhawan Palace is also known as Chittar Palace because of the local chittar sandstone used. Sardar Samand Lake and Palace Sardar Samand Lake Palace, a breathtaking monument that offers enthralling vistas of the Sardar Samand Lake. By Road: Another convenient mode of transportation to Jodhpur is by road. The main highway between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer is via Agoli and Pokaran. The highway is well connected with Agra, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Delhi, Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur by bus.

Climate Jodhpur Climate is of an extreme type, with the variations in temperature range being very high. Weather in Jodhpur, Rajasthan is dry and hot, a typical desert weather.
