Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh, India. Shimla is once a British summer capital of India. Shimla hill town is located at an altitude of 2213 metre. Christ Church - Christ Church is the second oldest church in north India. It is one of the major attractions of Shimla Tour. The Mall ? The Mall is one of the major attractions of Shimla. This area is mainly famous for shopping for stocked shops, banks, clubs, hotels and restaurants. Gaiety Theatre is the centre of cultural activities. Lakkar Bazaar in Shimla, popular for its woodcrafts and souvenirs.

Jakhu Hill - Jakhu Hill is located at a distance of 2 km from Shimla. It is the highest peak in the area with a height of 8000 feet above sea level. On top of the hill is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman.

Summer Hill - Summer Hill is at a distance of 5 km from the Ridge lies the township of Summer Hill. This calm and mellow area is 6500 feet high on the Shimla-Kalka railway line. This is the ideal place to escape to away from the hustle and bustle of central Shimla. While here, you can tour the campus of the Himachal Pradesh.

Tara Devi - Tara Devi is a hill that gets its name from a temple dedicated to the Goddess of the Stars, which is located here. Tara Devi is located a mere 11 km from the Shimla bus stand. The area is also the headquarters of Bharat Scouts and Guides.

How to reach Shimla

By Air: To arrive in Shimla the nearest airport is Jubbarhatti Airport, 23 km away from Shimla. One can also take flight for Chandigarh, or Delhi. From Delhi and Chandigarh, Shimla is easily accessible.

By Rail: To arrive in Shimla by rail, the closest railway station is Kalka. Though, Shimla is on the narrow gauge railway line, one have to take toy train from Kalka to Shimla. The Toys train takes you to Shimla through the beautiful valley and landscapes. The toy trains runs at a very slow pace and makes you view to spectacular view of surroundings and offers you a pleasant journey.

By Road: Shimla is well connected by road from all the cities of Himachal Pradesh and neighboring states. Regular bus services are available to Shimla from Delhi and Chandigarh.
