Udaipur City Guide


Udaipur is one of the top tourist destinations. It is mainly known as the city of lakes. The marble palaces, beautifully laid out gardens and the lakes make Udaipur beauty tourist destinations of world. Udaipur has a fascinating blend of sights, sound and experiences. The kingdom of Mewar was one of the most respectable of all Rajput princely states in Rajasthan.



Site Seeing

Udaipur is famous around the world as the City Of Lake. The Pichola Lake, Fateh Sagar, Udai Sagar and Swaroop Sagar are some of the most beautiful lakes in Udaipur. Fateh Sagar contains two small islands, one of which contains USO, or Udaipur solar observatory.

City Palace - A majestic architectural marvel is a conglomeration of courtards, pavilions, terraces corridors rooms and hanging gardens. The maharanas were weighed under the gate in gold. The "Mor Chowk' known for its exquisite peacock mosaics in glass.

Jagdish Temple - Jagdish Temple situated in the middle of the city, which is a big Tourist attraction of Udaipur.

Fateh Sagar - Next to Fateh Prakash Palace, houses beautiful glass and mirror works. It is mainly famous for a beautiful lake. In the middle of the lake is Nehru Park a lovely garden.

Pichhola Lake - hills, palaces, temples bathing ghats and embankments surround Pichhola Lake. Two island palaces jag Mandir and jag Niwas Lake Palace on the lake are of breathtaking magnificence. Gulab Bagh - A spectacular rose Garden's library has a rare collection of anicient-handwritten manuscripts and books.

Ahar - The ancient capital of sisodias. Ahar boasts of a profusion of royal cenotaphs of the rulers of Mewar.

Sajjan Garh - Sajjan Garh offers a panoramic overview of the city's lakes, palaces and the surrounding countryside.

Bharatiya Lok Kala Museum - Bharatiya Lok Kala Museum has interesting collection exhibited includes folk dresses ornaments puppets masks dolls folk musical instruments folk deities and paintings.


How to reach Udaipur

Air: Debock Airport is 24 km from the city centre, Dairy Indian Airliness flights connect Udaipur with Jodhpur, Jaipur, aurangbad, Mumbai, Delhi and mojor cities of India.

Rail: Udaipur is directly linked by rail with major cities of India.

Road: A wide network of bus service link Udaipur with several destinations. Some of the important distance is Agra 630km, Ahmedabad 262 km Jaipur 406 km.


Climate

Udaipur climate is ideal for the tourists during winter. Best time to vistit Udaipur is beginning of September till March.

In winters, the temperature touches maximum of 28.3 degree Celsius and minimum of 11.6 degree Celsius. In the summer season, the temperature ranges between 38.3 and 28.8-degree Celsius.The desert nights get chilly but the days are cool with plenty of lovely sunshine.
