However, If you plan to visit France only once; we think you need at least 7 days. In fact, you can see it for less time, but you can only visit some cities and skip many other interesting attractions.

The amount of time you needed for France really depends on so many factors: your time, your budget, how quick of a pace you like to move at, and how many attractions you need to see.

Truthfully, in order to get the full experience, you’d probably need to dedicate from a week to 10 days.

Day 1: Guided visit of Avignon

Avignon is the perfect location to start your South of France Itinerary 7 Days. This city is located in the south of France and you can visit it from different places.

The first day will be scheduled according to your arrival details. Whether you flew to Marseille or you come by high-speed train from Paris, we are flexible to adjust the service. Either way, we are going to have a nice tour around Provence and we visit the most popular attractions.

We will start the tour by visiting Palais des Papes, a UNESCO world heritage site. This monument stands as an awe-inspiring testimony to the grandeur of Christendom during the 14th century.

After that, we will visit another remarkable museum of fine arts (the Musée du Petit Palais), noteworthy medieval churches, and lively festivals throughout the year.

Later, after lunch, we will pay a visit to Avignon's most famous bridge. The bridge attracts more than 300,000 visitors per year and today only 4 of its original 22 stone arches have remained. You can also visit the exhibition that contains various short films about the history of the bridge.

Finally, it's time to rest and have free time to go out to some nice restaurant or stay at your hotel.

We wake up early in the morning and we head to Aix en Provence. After one hour drive, we reach the cultural capital of Provence. Probably, after visiting this city, you’ll be convinced to come back!

Aix-en-Provence has a charm that reflects its noble heritage. It was once the capital of Provence, and it still maintains an essential spot in the region’s cultural composition.

Aix-en-Provence immerses visitors in the lifestyle of southern France, with its bustling open-air markets, vibrant outdoor cafes, and refreshing squares, Aix makes you feel in love.

The main attraction we will visit includes the old town of the city, the Cours Mirabeau, a wonderful tree-lined avenue with many sidewalk cafés and restaurants; and the Quartier Mazarin neighborhood, which was created in the 17th century.

The second day of your South of France Itinerary 7 Days will be devoted to exploring this city and its treasures.

Day 3: Exploring Saint-Tropez (French Riviera)

Today we wake up early and we take the scenic A52 autoroute toward St. Tropez. A humble town that epitomizes the seaside French Riviera town.

Saint-Tropez wasn't that popular until 1956 when the film And God Created Woman was shot there. The film features the Plage de Pampelonne, which is still reputed for its enchanting private beach clubs. Nowadays, it still seduces travelers all around the world with its picturesque port (Vieux Port) and quaint historic town center (La Ponche), luxuriant Mediterranean scenery, and pristine sandy beaches.

St. Tropez attracts rich people and was a famous destination in the '60s for the jet setting elite. Nowadays, it still enjoy this privilege.

Day 4: Traveling to Cannes and Antibes

Your south of France itinerary 7 days continues to Cannes. After almost 2 hours drive from St. Tropez, we reach Cannes, a city known of its international film festival.

Cannes holds the most amazing private beaches, marinas filled with luxury yachts, stylish boulevards, and elegant restaurants. This place is made to relax after a long week of sightseeing and is a favorite if you like perfumes and fragrance.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Musée International de la Parfumerie to see how perfume is made. You can even create your fragrance.

By 7:30 PM, we will be heading over Antibes. Overnight at your hotel in Antibes.

Day 5: Stroll around Nice

The city features various churches, museums, and ruins that keep history lovers entertained for days. Also, if you like shopping, there are many areas to visit.

In the morning, we will start our visit by seeing the old town (Vieille Ville). We will stroll around its humble walls and alleys for almost 2 hours. 

You will see that the architecture and setting of the city has an Italian vibe, which is no coincidence as Nice wasn’t French until the Treaty of Turin in 1860.

Later, in the afternoon, we will walk on Promenade des Anglais (English Walk). The Promenade des Anglais is not only a major walkway beside the Mediterranean, but also an integral part of Nice city life.

Finally, we will pay a visit to Place Masséna, the city's main square. Many travelers highlighted this place as an idyllic location to snap their photos. With hypnotic tilework and the illuminated display fountains, Place Masséna serves as a wonderful backdrop.

The 5th days comes to the end, but our south of France itinerary 7 days will continue tomorrow.

Day 6: Trip to Eze and Monaco

Today, you will enjoy a visit to the medieval hillside village of Eze and a guided tour of Monaco and Monte Carlo. At the charming hillside village of Eze, you will be amazed by the panoramic view of the French Riviera and the Mediterranean Sea.

Remember that Èze requires a lot of walking at steep inclines, so you’ll want to wear comfortable shoes.

You will also get the opportunity to see the Fragonard perfume factory before driving through the village of La Turbie. 

On arrival in Monaco, we will pay a visit to the old town, known as "The Rock." We will visit the Prince Palace. Then, we continue to the Cathedral, where we will pay homage to the Princes and Princesses of Monaco who are buried there and still have time to see the Oceanographic Museum and the Justice Palace.

Later, we will head over Monte Carlo. we will see the Casino built by Garnier, the architect of the Opera Garnier in Paris. After that, we will come to Nice for an overnight stay.

Day 7: End of the south of France itinerary 7 days

Indeed, our south of France itinerary 7 days comes to the end. Today, we will take you back either to Avignon or another city to fly home.
