Day 1 Arrival at Amman

The first day of your 10 Days Jordan itinerary will be custimed according to your arrival details. Your driver will pick you up from the Amman Airport and then drop you off at the hotel. If you arrive earlier at Amman, you can have a guided tour of the city. The city of Amman is rich in history and culture, and a guided tour is the perfect way to explore its many wonders. The Roman Theater is one of the most popular tourist destinations, and for good reason - it's a beautifully preserved example of ancient architecture. The Citadel is another must-see, and the views from its top are simply stunning. The archeological museum is also worth a visit, as it contains many artifacts from the city's long history. Whether you're interested in art, history, or just want to take in the sights, a guided tour of Amman is sure to please. After exploring Amman, you will spend the night there.

Day 2 The Jordan Valley

On this day, you’ll drive to the Jordan Valley after having your breakfast in the morning. The Jordan Valley is a beautiful but desolate stretch of land, and the journey to Qallat ar-Rabadh can feel like a journey to another world. The road winds through dusty plains and rocky hills, eventually emerging into the dense forest. The Castle is hidden away amongst the trees. It's a large structure, with high walls and numerous towers. From the outside, it looks impenetrable. But inside, it's a different story. The Castle was built as a place of defence, but it also served as a home for the families of those who served in its garrison. As such, it's filled with cosy rooms and small courtyards. It's easy to imagine how life must have been for those who lived there centuries ago. Today, Qallat ar-Rabadh is a popular tourist destination, and you can explore the Castle and learn about its history. Now, you will visit Anjara to witness its famous cave. The small town of Anjara lies nestled in the mountains of Jordan, and for centuries it has been a place of pilgrimage for Christians from all over the world. The cave in Anjara is where tradition says that Jesus rested with his disciples on their journey to Jerusalem, and the Church of Our Lady of the Mountain nearby is a venerated holy site. Today, the cave and church are both popular tourist destinations, and you can explore the caves and view the stunning mosaics in the church. The town itself is also worth exploring, with its traditional stone houses and winding streets. Next, you will drive to Jersah. Nestled in the hills of Jordan, the ancient city of Jerash is a must-see for anyone interested in history or archaeology. Sometimes known as the "Pompeii of the East," Jerash is one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman cities in the world. Currently, Jerash is a popular tourist destination, and visitors can explore a number of well-preserved monuments and ruins. The Arch of Hadrian, built in AD 130, is one of the most famous landmarks in the city. The Hippodrome, where chariot races were once held, is also a popular spot for tourists. You will check out the theaters and temples located throughout Jerash - they provide a fascinating glimpse into the city's past. Overnight stay at Umm Qais.

Day 3 Pella and Ruins of Umm Qais

After your breakfast, you will continue your 10 days Jordan itinerary to Pella. Pella was once a thriving city, full of vibrant life and culture. However, the city holds a dark history. In 70 CE, the Romans laid siege to Jerusalem in an attempt to quash the growing rebellion. Many of the city's residents fled to Pella in an attempt to escape the violence. For months, they huddled in the ancient ruins, waiting for the situation in Jerusalem to improve. Unfortunately, their plight was in vain. At the end, the city fell to the Romans and many of its inhabitants were killed or sold into slavery. Today, the ruins stand as a sombre reminder of this tragic event. You can explore the Forum, where refugees once gathered, or walk through the remains of houses and shops. Despite its tragic history, Pella is a place of great beauty and mystery, and is well worth a visit. After the visit, you will drive for an hour to Decapolis. The Decapolis was a league of ten ancient Greek cities located in the region that is now known as the Middle East. The city of Um Qais was one of these cities, and it is best known for its striking basalt ruins. These ruins are all that remain of the once-great city, which was destroyed by an earthquake in 749 AD. Despite its ruinous state, the site still offers breath-taking views of the surrounding landscape. To the north, you can see the Golan Heights in Syria; to the south, you can see Lake Tiberias in Palestine; and to the east, you may even be able to see the mountains in Lebanon. In short, Um Qais is a beautiful and unique place that is well worth a visit. Overnight stay at Madaba.

Day 4 Bethany Beyond the Jordan and Mt. Nebo

After your breakfast, you will drive to explore this amazing site. Located East of the Jordan River, Bethany Beyond the Jordan is an important site for Christians as it is where John the Baptist baptized Jesus (John 1:24-28). The site is also known from the Madaba Mosaic Map, which is a 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land. The Bethany Beyond the Jordan site was a place of pilgrimage for early Christians Today, it remains an important place of Christian worship. You can see ruins of several early churches, a baptismal pool and a modern church that has been built over the ruins of an ancient one. The site is surrounded by beautiful scenery, making it a peaceful and spiritual place to visit. Then, you will drive to Mt. Nebo. It is located in the west bank of the Jordan River. From its summit, at an elevation of 1,207 meters above sea level, Moses viewed the Promised Land but was not allowed to enter. Currently, Mt. Nebo is a popular tourist destination and pilgrimage site for Christians, as it is believed to be the place where Moses was buried. The site includes a Byzantine church, built in the 4th century AD, as well as a number of other ruins from earlier periods. You can also enjoy stunning views of the Jordan Valley and the city of Jericho from the top of Mt. Nebo. You will also visit The Moses Memorial Church. It is a small, but beautiful, church located in the heart of the mountains. The church also has a small on-site museum that contains artefacts and information about the mountain and its history. You will find that it is a peaceful and serene place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the mountain. Your driver will take you to the Dead Sea. It is one of the most unique places on earth. It is located in the Jordan Rift Valley, and at 1,412 feet below sea level, it is the lowest point on the planet. The sea gets its name from the fact that its high salt content makes it impossible for fish or other marine life to live in its waters. However, this same salt content also makes the waters incredibly buoyant, allowing visitors to float effortlessly on the surface. The Dead Sea is also rich in minerals, and many people believe that its mud has therapeutic properties. Overnight stay at Dead Sea.

Day 5 Um Ar Rasas and Machaerus

After breakfast, you will drive to Um Ar Rasas. The site of Um Ar Rasas is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Jordan. The site consists of the remains of several Byzantine churches and their mosaics. The mosaics are especially well-preserved and provide a glimpse into the daily life of the people who lived there centuries ago. The churches themselves are also interesting, as they were built using a unique construction technique that is not seen elsewhere. You can explore the ruins at their own pace, and there is also a small museum on site that provides more information about the history of the area. Then, you will drive to The fortress of Machaerus. It sits atop a hill in the Judean desert, overlooking the Dead Sea. The rugged Fortress was built by King Herod in order to control the rebellious populace. Situated high above the desert floor, the Fortress was both impenetrable and strategically located. Due to its height and location, the Fortress provided an excellent vantage point for spotting any approaching enemy. You can still see the remains of the massive walls and towers that protected the Fortress. Although it is in ruins, Machaerus continues to be a fascinating site to explore. Next, you will continue your 10 days Jordan Itinerary to Petra where you will spend your night.

Day 6 Exploring Petra

After breakfast, you will drive to Petra. The ancient city of Petra is one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in the world. Carved into the red sandstone cliffs by the Nabateans more than 2,000 years ago, Petra was an important center of trade and commerce. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Jordan's most popular tourist destinations. You can explore a number of well-preserved ruins, including temples, tombs, and palaces. The most famous monument is Al Khazneh, a massive temple with intricate carved facades. Other highlights include the Roman amphitheater, the royal tombs, and the treasury. You can also hike through the Siq, a narrow canyon that leads to Petra's main entrance. You can explore the remains of temples, tombs, and other buildings that date back thousands of years. But among the most interesting sights in Petra are the three churches that can be found on the hill opposite the Great Temple. These churches were built in the 4th and 5th centuries, during a period of great religious turmoil in the region. The Petra Church is the largest of the three, and its massive size indicates that it was once an important center of worship. The Blue Church gets its name from the striking blue tiles that adorn its facade, while the Ridge Church is so named for its location on a high ridge overlooking the valley. Today, these churches are fascinating reminders of Petra's rich history. Overnight stay in Petra.

Day 7 Petra and Wadi Rum

After breakfast, you will go for a hike to the Monastery. The trail starts out steep, but soon levels out as it winds its way through Petra's unique landscape. You will be treated to stunning views of the monument-filled valley below as they make their way to the Monastery. This imposing structure is one of Petra's most popular tourist attractions, and it's easy to see why. The Monastery is an impressive sight, and the view from its summit is simply breath-taking. Then, you will drive to Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum is a stunning desert landscape in southern Jordan. It's known for its red sandstone mountains, canyons and valleys, and is one of the places where the Israelites camped during the Exodus. Today, it's a popular destination for hikers, climbers and tourists who want to experience its unique beauty. Overnight stay at Wadi Rum.

Day 8 Lot's Cave and Crusader Castle

After your breakfast, your 10 days Jordan adventure will take you to Lot’s Cave. Remains excavated from the cave show it was first used 5,000 years ago. The cave is named after the Biblical figure Lot, who was said to have been turned into a pillar of salt when he looked back at the city of Sodom as it was being destroyed. Currently, the cave is a popular tourist destination, and you can see the remains of ancient buildings and artefacts. Even if you're not religious, the cave is an interesting site to explore and learn about the city's long history. Then, you will drive to Kerak, a large Crusader castle located in modern-day Jordan. It includes a church and a museum displaying Moabite artefacts. The castle was built in 1142 by the Crusaders, and it played an important role in the Crusades. In 1187, the castle was captured by Saladin, and it remained under Muslim control until 1915. In World War I, the castle was captured by the Arab Revolt and held by Lawrence of Arabia. The castle is now a tourist destination, and it is one of the most popular castles in the Crusader world. Overnight at Dead Sea Resort.

Day 9 Continue your Itinerary to Wadi Mujib

Today, after your breakfast, you will continue your Jordan itinerary to Wadi Mujib, also known as the Arnon River Gorge. It is a deep canyon located in Jordan and mentioned twenty-five times in the Bible. Historically, it was used as a boundary between the kingdoms of Moab and Gilead. Currently, the canyon is a popular tourist destination known for its dramatic landscape and unique wildlife. You can explore the canyon by hiking, canyoneering, or swimming in the river. The Wadi Mujib Reserve is also home to the world's only population of blind cavefish. These fascinating creatures have adapted to life in complete darkness and provide a window into an underground world that few people ever get to see. Overnight stay at Dead Sea Resort.

The Dead Sea is truly a unique place. Affectionately nicknamed the "Salt Sea," it is nearly eight times as salty as the ocean and has a disproportionally high concentration of minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium. The shores are also covered in a thick layer of white salt crystals. In the distance, the hazy outline of mountains can be seen, providing a stunning backdrop to this otherworldly landscape. As you stand on the shore, you can't help but feel a sense of awe at the natural wonders of our planet. It's hard to believe that such a place exists. In just a few hours, you will drive to Amman to catch a flight home, but you'll carry the memories of this special place with you always. Here your 10 days Jordan itinerary comes to the end and our services too. We hope you enjoyed our company.

The customer service before departure was excellent, the organisation from start to finish was excellent, the accommodation was better than expected, the group leader was excellent, the itinerary was excellent. As a solo female traveller I felt completely comfortable with the rest of the group whether they were traveling alone, with friends or with partners. The mix of activities, geographical locations, sights, sounds, terrain and communities left you feeling like you had experienced and encountered Vietnam, its history, its people and its landscape.

Another exciting adventure with Exodus

Another exciting adventure with this tour company. Our trip was at the end of April/beginning of May and it was very hot !!!! I'm told June/July is even hotter. Phew !!!!Despite this I loved every minute of it.It was a very busy trip but extremely well organised. I very much liked the additional drink stops as it was so very hot. Home made chilled lime was just the thing. I also very much liked Lam pre-booking the meals and us all going together. He found some wonderful places and we had delicious fresh food. There just isn't time to find somewhere yourself. This really worked well.We were lucky to be with a super group of people. Everyone happy and smiling and enjoying every moment..................well................except a few of the group who did get a bit sore. Please do get yourself some chamois butter and padded pants. It works a treat. It worked well having all the cycling in the beginning. The train was much better than I had expected and I slept like a log !!! Whale Island and Halong Bay were real treats and I would have loved more time there. But, overall, the trip was perfect for timing as it kept us within the 15 day Visa limit and we saw and did so much.Despite being informed in writing by the tour operator that our big holdalls/suitcase stays with us all the time......this was not the case. You do need to have a rucksack or flat pack bag big enough for the one and two night stays (Whale Island and Halong Bay). In fact......it works very well to just take small luggage. Much easier to do once you get your head around it.I found the cycling easy compared with other trips I've done but I do feel it is right to be called a Level 3. Everyone cycles slightly differently and there is always a bit of a mix of abilities........which makes for a good group cycle I think.

An interesting blend of Vietnam from north to south including an o/n sleeper train. The success and enjoyment of these trips is usually down to the blend of fellow travellers and team leader and this one was no different. The weather, early season, was mixed with a little more rain and cloud than hoped for but did not detract from the enjoyment but a little more sunshine would have enhanced the countryside. A read of the brochure and trip notes will give a very accurate picture of the breadth and variety of the trip. The daily riding distances are mainly governed by the fitness of the participants and their ability to cover the miles in a reasonable time and for the first time in my experience of 7 trips we were delayed by some participants who frankly were not cycling fit and I wonder if they had read and understood the pre - trip advice!
