Day 4 Hking in Mount Longonot National Park

Your 10 days Kenya safari tour includes also another interesting destination: the Mount Longonot National Park. Mount Longonot is one of the most popular hiking spots in the Great Rift Valley. The volcanic mountain offers a challenging five-hour hike that takes hikers to the summit, where they are rewarded with stunning views of the valley below. Mount Longonot was last active in 1920, and its name comes from the Maasai words for "mountain of many rows of spines." The trail winding up the mountain is dotted with volcanic rocks, and the summit is a great place to spot wildlife such as eagles and monkeys. It is an inactive volcano which last erupted in the 1860s, located in the Kenyan Rift Valley about 90 kilometres northwest of Nairobi. The mountain is surrounded by steep cliffs which rise almost 600 metres from the crater floor. The crater itself is about 2.5 kilometres wide and 260 metres deep. Within the crater, you will discover a thick forest which is home to a variety of wildlife, including buffalo, eland, hyena, leopard and zebra. Day 5 Game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park

It is a remarkable place that is internationally known for its animal sanctuary. The park is home to both black and white rhino species, as well as many different bird species. The pink greater and lesser flamingos are particularly spectacular, and the park is also home to large flocks of pelicans, waterbuck, leopards, and the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Recently, scientists have also discovered evidence of early human activity at Kariandusi, making it one of the oldest known sites of human habitation in Africa.

Day 6 exploring Lake Bogoria

After your breakfast, you will leave for Lake Bogoria, another best destination for Kenyan safaris! You will make a stop at the Equator Closing Line. At the equator, the Coriolis Effect is zero. This means that if you were to release a ball into the air, it would fall directly down, rather than being pulled to the side. This effect is most pronounced at the poles, where it can result in significant deviations from straight-line motion. However, at the equator, the Coriolis Effect is non-existent. This provides a unique opportunity to observe water in its natural state. Later, you arrive at Lake Bogoria. It is one of the most photographed places in Kenya. And it's no wonder why, the lake is a birdwatchers paradise, with over a thousand flamingos often congregating on the shores. But even if you're not a birdwatcher, the views are still breath-taking. The sparkling blue waters are framed by green hills, providing a stunning contrast to the pink flamingos. And if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of some of the other wildlife that calls Lake Bogoria home, including giraffes, zebras, and gazelles. After enjoying the scenery, you can relax with a picnic lunch at the lakeside. With its dramatic views and abundant wildlife, Lake Bogoria is an unforgettable place to visit. Then, you return to Nakuru.

Day 7 Game drive at Masai Mara National Park

Your 10 days Kenya safari will take you today to the most outstanding attraction in Kenya; Masai Mara National Park. After breakfast, you will drive for 4 hours to reach the the park and enjoy what it has to offer. The Maasai Mara National park covers an area of 1,510 square kilometres. It is located in southwest Kenya and is one of the country's best wildlife reserves. The reserve is home to a large number of animals, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and hippos. It is also home to the world's largest population of cheetahs. In addition to its large animal population, the reserve is also known for its large bird population, which includes vultures, eagles, and ostriches. Maasai Mara is actually an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem. The park is home to some of the largest populations of ungulates in Africa, and these animals undertake one of the most spectacular migrations in the world. Every year, millions of Wildebeest and Zebra travel from the Serengeti to Maasai Mara in search of new grazing grounds. Along the way, they must brave predators, river crossings, and harsh weather conditions. You will embark on an afternoon game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, elephants, giraffes, and rhinos as you wind your way through the park. With a little luck, you may even spot a leopard or cheetah. As the sun sets, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8 Big Five exploration in Maasai Mara National Park

After breakfast, you will spend your day exploring the Maasai Mara National Park. The Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kenya. Every year, thousands of people come to see the incredible wildlife that call the reserve home. Today, you will have the chance to explore the reserve and see some of its amazing animals up close. With any luck, you will be able to see the migrating wildebeest and get a front row seat to one of nature's most incredible spectacles. There is nothing quite like observing wildlife in their natural habitat. For many travellers, seeing the big five - lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos, and rhinos - is the ultimate safari experience. In the late afternoon, you will return to the hotel where you can enjoy a hot shower and a relaxing evening.

Day 9 Hot Air Balloon Ride at Maasai Mara

After your breakfast, you will get ready for a hot air balloon ride in Maasai Mara. There's something magical about hot air balloons. They evoke a sense of wonder and adventure, and they offer a unique perspective on the world. If you've ever dreamed of floating peacefully through the sky, a hot air balloon safari in Maasai Mara is the perfect way to make that dream a reality. Launching at dawn, you'll be treated to a stunning view of the sun rising over the savannah. As you float along, you'll keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, including lions, elephants, and giraffes. You drift along at the mercy of the wind, taking in the sights at a leisurely pace. And then there's the feeling of being cocooned in a basket, surrounded by billowing fabric and the gentle flicker of flames. It's an intimate experience, unlike anything else. After this ride, you will have the opportunity to see more of the wildlife in their natural habitat. This can include a lion killing its prey, a cheetah chasing down its dinner, or the elephants peacefully grazing on the grasses. You may also get to see birds building their nests or flying through the air in formation. No matter what you witness, it will be an unforgettable experience. Seeing the animals in their natural habitat is a rare privilege that few people ever get to enjoy. So take advantage of this opportunity and soak up all the sights and sounds of the Masai Mara park.

Day 10 End of 10 days Kenya Safari

After your breakfast, you will depart for Nairobi. On the way, you will make a stop at a Masai Vilage. As you enter the Masai village, you are greeted by the sounds of traditional music and the sight of brightly clothed dancers. A guide leads you through the village, pointing out the different features of the houses and explaining the daily life of the Maasai people. You also learn about their beliefs and traditions, including their unique system of polygamy. As you walk through the village, you see demonstrations of how the Maasai make fire using just sticks and animal dung. You also get the chance to go into Maasai villagers' houses and see the full family setup. This is a rare opportunity to experience a different way of life and to learn about a fascinating culture. The Maasai are a proud and deeply spiritual people who have lived in East Africa for centuries. Though they have modernized in many ways, they still maintain their traditional way of life. One of the highlights of a visit to a Maasai village is meeting the Morans. These young men are the soldiers of the Maasai, and undergo rigorous training to prepare for their role as protectors of the community. During a visit, the Morans may share their stories of lion hunting and other exploits, providing insight into the courage and strength that is so central to Maasai culture. And you finally arrive at Nairobi. This marks the end of your 10 days Kenya safari adeventure.

The customer service before departure was excellent, the organisation from start to finish was excellent, the accommodation was better than expected, the group leader was excellent, the itinerary was excellent. As a solo female traveller I felt completely comfortable with the rest of the group whether they were traveling alone, with friends or with partners. The mix of activities, geographical locations, sights, sounds, terrain and communities left you feeling like you had experienced and encountered Vietnam, its history, its people and its landscape.

Amazing country, beautifully seen from the seat of a bicycle. So many unusual sights - friendly people (attractive, relaxed, smiling, shouting hello); fields of rice, coffee, rubber, eucalyptus, dragon fruit, etc., farmers herding brown cows and water buffalo; basic living conditions, cooking, eating and washing-up in the open, spilling out onto pavement; scooters everywhere and crazy driving but it seems to work, no road rage; great respect for older people and ancestors (colourful cemeteries and every house has small ancestral shrine). Came back with a real feel for the country, wanting to learn more.

Lifelong memories

We were part of a group of 17 who quickly formed a close bond created entirely by the enthusiasm and generosity of our leader. Nothing was too much trouble Long went out of his way every day to make sure we experienced in full life in Vietnam. The trip ran like clockwork, without us feeling we were being rushed at any stage. He made it fun even when we cycled 100 k in a day taking in a very high mountain pass.
