About this tour

On this 5-day tour from Fes to  Marrakech, you may learn more about South Morocco in addition to learning about the imperial cities of Fes and Marrakech. This fascinating, informative desert tour begins in the Middle Atlas, where you may see Barbary orangutans in cedar trees in person. You pause your desert adventure for a night in Midelt, the “apple and mining capital,” which is located in these mountains and is surrounded by orchards.

You can stretch your legs beside the date palm oases of the Ziz Valley after leaving the mountains behind. You will experience the long-awaited camel ride across the sand dunes once you arrive in the desert, followed by a welcome drink of tea and a traditional Moroccan meal. Then, in the evening, nomad and Berber songs are played around a campfire under a sky full of brilliant stars. The pleasure of spending the night in your own private tent in a desert camp adds to the allure of this serene, quiet location.

You leave the desert and head to Erfoud to learn more about the amazing fossil discoveries there. Walking through the Toudgha Gorges and the Dades Valley, as well as driving through them, reveals incredible natural rock formations. Damascene roses, which have a lovely aroma, are abundant in the Rose Valley and are the source of many exquisite cosmetic and toiletry goods. A fuller understanding of authentic Berber life can be gained by visiting the Kasbah Amredhil museum and the Skoura oasis with its countless palm trees. Visits to the most well-known Kasbahs in Morocco, Ait ben Haddou and Telouet, help to increase this.

Before arriving in Marrakech at the end of the day, your Fes to Marrakech desert adventure comes to a close with the breathtaking vistas of the beautiful Atlas Mountains. Our breathtaking 5-day Tour from Fes takes you from Fes to Marrakech and Ouarzazate for the experience of a lifetime.

Day 1: Fes, Ifrane, Azrou, and Midelt

At 8.30 am, leave this city and pass through Ifrane, where the houses have unique and unusually sloped roofs. This is done to prepare for the annual snowfall. Barbary apes can be seen in the oak and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas close to Azrou, 1250 meters above, with the geomorphological Berber term that meaning "stone" or "rock." If you'd like, you can pause here and go for a stroll. From here, you will travel to south on the N13 over the Middle Atlas, passing at Timahdite You will arrive in Midelt, 1508M, which is known as Morocco's "apple capital" and is located at the base of the Ayachi Mountain. In addition to being one of the country's major cities for the mining of many minerals, including fluorite, vanadinite, quartz, and cerussite, the town acts as the region's commercial and agricultural hub. You will spend the night in a hotel on this 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech.

Day 2: Midelt, Ziz Valley, Rissani, and Merzouga

Following breakfast, you will continue south across the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass, also referred to as "the she-camel" pass. We descend via the Ziz Valley, which is renowned for the length of the oasis and its many palm trees. There are countless "ksars," or little towns with individual homes, all along the road. From here, you can travel to Er Rachidia, a copper and malachite mining town, and then Erfoud, a place well-known for its date festival and fossils. The stores are worth a visit since it is fascinating to see how these millions of fossils have been crafted into objects. There is no obligation to purchase anything! After Rissani, you'll arrive in Merzouga at the renowned red Erg Chebbi dunes. Lunch will be served here. You will ride a camel for an hour to an hour and a half, either leaving from or arriving at the camp. Alternatively, you might drive your 4x4 to the camp. In order to maximize your appreciation of the solitude and beauty of the dunes, you will spend the night in a luxurious camp with a private shower, king-sized beds, lovely Moroccan furnishings, and lighting that have been artfully placed.

Day 3: Merzouga, Todra Gorge

If you get up early enough, you can witness the sunrise, when the dunes' color and the shadows' interaction create an amazing sight. We will leave the camp for Tinghir and the Toudgha gorges after breakfast. You will pass water channels along the path called "khettarat," which you can enter to admire the design and ingenuity of this irrigation method that keeps the summer heat from evaporating. The canals begin at one end with a steeper gradient and eventually emerge at the soil's surface where they are fed into the fields. After a delicious Lunch, there are chances to wander beyond the gorge or via the village fields and gardens before you reach it in the gorge and the valley. Million seas Later on, the route goes on to the Dades Valley. Years ago, the region that presently makes up the Dades Gorges was at the bottom. Around massive coral reefs, huge amounts of silt were deposited, and over time, this material was compacted into a variety of sedimentary rocks like sandstone and limestone. The Atlas Mountains and the surrounding terrain were eventually formed as a result of the region rising above the sea due to the movement of the earth's crust. One spends the night at a hotel or kasbah.

Day 4: Todra Gorge, Rose Valley, Skoura, and Ouarzazate

A visit to the Dades gorges and a little hike there are scheduled for after breakfast on day 4th of this 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech. Returning to the vehicle, the journey to Ouarzazate continues, detourning through the Boutaghar piste to meet Berber nomads in their caves and share a cup of tea with them. The visitor will see firsthand how difficult it is for these nomads to survive in this desolate area while still raising their kids and caring for their goats. We will proceed through the Valley of the Roses, known for its May Rose Festival, from this point on. Throughout the nation, cosmetics and toiletries are produced and respected. Kasbah Amredhil in Skoura and the nearby oasis is ready for a very worthwhile visit. The kasbah has been meticulously maintained and provides a vivid illustration of life in such habitation. Due to the thickness of the walls, adobe, a great building material, is used exclusively in its construction. You will arrive at Ouarzazate after 45 minutes, where you spend the night in a guest home.

Day 5: Ouarzazate, Ait Ben-Haddou and Marrakech

The journey will continue to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco's seven World Heritage Sites and the setting for numerous Hollywood blockbusters, after breakfast on the last day of this 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech. It is the most well-known Kasbah, and some of the structures are from that era. The Ounila Valley, full of curves in the road, surprises at the colours of the rock and soil, Berber settlements and gardens, as well as lesser Kasbahs, may be reached from here by car. We will continue to Telouet, which was formerly El Glaoui's residence and the place from where the highest pass in Africa, Tizi-n-Tichka, was controlled. Telouet is situated in the middle of the highlands. After Thami El Glaoui fled the nation after the French left in 1956, each extension to the structure was abandoned and looted, leaving them to remain in ruins exposed to the wind and weather. Wait until you get to the far end of the Kasbah to be impressed with the authentic interior decor. After travelling across the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, we reach red city in the end of the afternoon. Enough time to explore main sights of the city, such as the well-known Jamma el-Fna square, the Koutoubia mosque, the souk, the Royal Palace, and a few museums.Your 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech comes to an end.
