Itinerary

Day 1 Kampala - Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary - Murchison Falls National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel around 7:00 am. Your journey towards Murchison Falls will begin. Along the way, you will make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Situated in the heart of Uganda's wildlife country, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is home to the last remaining wild rhinos in Uganda. The sanctuary, which covers an area of over 7,000 hectares, was established in 2005 with the aim of providing a secure habitat for rhinos and aiding in the species' reintroduction into Uganda's national parks. Today, the sanctuary is home to a growing population of rhinos, as well as a number of other wildlife species including giraffes, zebras, antelopes and various bird species. At Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you can enjoy game drives and walks in the company of experienced guides, giving them the chance to see rhinos and other wildlife up close. After having lunch at the sanctuary, you will continue your journey towards Murchison Falls National Park. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, and hippos. You will be taken to the top of the falls. It is an incredibly beautiful view from the top of the falls. Be sure to keep your camera with you. Overnight stay at your lodges with food included.

Day 2 Murchison Falls National Park (Game Drive and Boat Rides)

You will have your breakfast in the morning. Next up, you will have the opportunity to enjoy hiking, bird watching, and fishing. The falls themselves are a natural wonder, and the park also has many hiking and camping opportunities. There are also several ranger-led activities, such as safari drives and walks, that can help you learn more about the park and its wildlife. After this, there’s the lunch break and you can relax for some time. Later on, in the afternoon, we head towards Victoria Nile for the boat ride. A boat ride on the Victoria Nile is one of the best ways to experience Uganda's natural beauty. The river flows through some of the country's most stunning scenery, including the majestic Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa. A boat ride also allows you to get up close and personal with Uganda's wildlife, as you may spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird life along the way. Uganda's boat rides are definitely an unforgettable experience! Overnight stay at the same lodges.

Day 3 Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale National Park

After a breakfast in the morning, you will continue your 7 days Uganda Safari journey towards Kibale National Park. The journey is relatively straightforward, although the road conditions can be a bit challenging in places. Once you reach there, you will check in your lodge and have a dinner. Have a good night’s sleep as you have a hectic day ahead.

Day 4 Kibale National Park to Ishasha Sector

After having your breakfast, you will set out to explore this amazing park. Kibale National Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Uganda. It covers an area of 776 square kilometers and is home to a variety of primates, including chimpanzees and red colobus monkeys. The park also contains a number of forest elephants. Kibale also has a rich birdlife, with over 300 species of birds present in the park. You can also enjoy hiking, birdwatching, and chimpanzee tracking. Kibale National Park is a great place to see some of Uganda’s amazing wildlife up close. You will have lunch and then continue towards Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ishasha Sector is located in the southern part of the park and is known for its large population of elephants. It also contains a number of other animals, including lions, leopards, and hippos. When you arrive at Ishasha Sector, be sure to ask the ranger about the best place to see elephants. The elephants here are often seen bathing in the river or grazing on the grasslands. If you're lucky, you might even see a leopard or two. Ishasha Sector is one of the best places in Uganda to see these elusive cats. Dinner and Overnight stay at lodge preparing for the next adventure of your 7 days Uganda Safari.

Day 5Ishasha Sector to Bwindi National Park

After your breakfast, you will have a game drive at Ishasha where you might get lucky to witness the tree-climbing lions. Then after your lunch, your journey towards Bwindi Park will begin. The drive from Ishasha Sector to Bwindi National Park is a long but scenic one. The journey will take you through some of Uganda's most beautiful landscapes, including the Rwenzori Mountains and the Virunga Volcanoes. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to spot some of Uganda's wildlife, including chimpanzees, gorillas, and elephants. The drive from Ishasha Sector to Bwindi National Park will take approximately 5 hours. Dinner and overnight stay at the park headquarters as you prepare for a hectic day ahead.

Day 6 Bwindi National Park to Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast early in the morning, you will assemble and have a briefing about your activity of Gorilla Trekking. You will be able to explore one of the world's most biodiverse regions and see some of the last remaining mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Gorilla trekking is an exciting and unique way to experience the country's wildlife up close. Uganda is home to about half of the world's mountain gorillas, and tracking these magnificent animals is a popular activity for tourists. The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is the primary organization responsible for managing the activity. When you go gorilla tracking, you'll be accompanied by a UWA guide who will lead you through the forest. The goal is to find a group of gorillas that are habituated to humans, which means they are used to seeing people and are not afraid of them. Once you have found the Gorillas, you will be able to photograph them and spend some time with them. The activity may take 6 to 8 hours. After having lunch, we continue our drive from Bwindi Park to Lake Bunyoni, enjoying the scenery along the way. The lake is a beautiful sight that you will enjoy the next day. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 7 Bwindi National Park to Lake Bunyonyi

As a tourist destination, Lake Bunyoni is unrivaled. Set amidst the stunning scenery of the Rwenzori Mountains, the lake is a haven for those seeking peace and relaxation. Its clear waters are teeming with fish, making it a dream destination for anglers, while its beaches are perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Whether you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life or simply want to enjoy some time in nature, Lake Bunyoni is the perfect place for you. Lake Bunyonyi is a picturesque freshwater lake in southwestern Uganda. It is about 25 kilometers long and 7 kilometers wide, making it the second deepest lake in Africa (after Lake Tanganyika). The lake is surrounded by terraced hillsides and small villages. There are several islands in the lake, the largest of which is Punishment Island. The lake is a popular tourist destination for its beauty and tranquility, as well as for its rich history. Lake Bunyonyi is known as the "Lake of the Little Birds" because of the many species of birds that live on or near the lake. The lake is also home to otters, hippos, and crocodiles. After your breakfast, you can choose to do swimming, canoeing, fishing, and hiking. Later on, you will head back towards Kampala. With millions of memories fresh in your mind, this safari trip is surely going to be the best trip of your life and you will cherish this 7 days Uganda safari trip for years to come.

Fantastic Trip

I am a little late in posting a review. We returned from this trip in early March, right when everything started to close down due to Covid-19. I can tell you that the memories of this trip have kept me going while sheltering in place. If you are thinking this might be the trip for you, please know that it is very fast paced with moving from place to place almost every night was quite challenging. The cycling itself was challenging based on ones fitness level. My husband completed every kilometer, while I did about three-quarters of the cycling. A lot of it depends on the heat, but for a female in my early 50s, I found it very doable. We had the most fabulous guide and crew. I cannot say enough of about our guide Son - he was absolutely amazing - taking care of all the details while we enjoyed ourselves. There are plenty of water/snack stops with fresh fruit and amazing snacks (ginger/nuts/cookies). They take very good care of you.

Lifelong memories We were part of a group of 17 who quickly formed a close bond created entirely by the enthusiasm and generosity of our leader. Nothing was too much trouble Long went out of his way every day to make sure we experienced in full life in Vietnam. The trip ran like clockwork, without us feeling we were being rushed at any stage. He made it fun even when we cycled 100 k in a day taking in a very high mountain pass.
